Development Dictionary: Social Impact Measurement and SROI

August 12 – 22, 2024

In the Development Dictionary, we continue to introduce concepts from the development ecosystem. In August, we covered concepts such as social impact measurement and SROI, which are prominent in the ecosystem.

Social impact measurement helps us understand and enhance the contribution of our projects and initiatives to the world, society, and individuals. This process not only highlights our successes but also helps us discover areas where further improvements can be made.

SROI, a framework used for measuring and calculating a broad concept of value, describes how change is created by measuring social, environmental, and economic outcomes. It uses monetary values to represent these changes.

Disaster Map Goes Live with New Features

The Disaster Map, a unique tool, provides future-oriented data by consolidating information on disasters in Turkey under one roof.

Throughout August, forest fires were a major topic of concern for everyone. During this period, increasing data and information about the fires is crucial.

The Fire Map offers many useful tools. You can track thermal activities detected by NASA satellites over the past 7 days with the Thermal Activity Map. The newly added Wind Map allows you to monitor daily wind speed, while the Temperature Map provides surface temperature information. The Fire Danger Map helps you understand the spread rate and risk of fires.

For more information, visit afetharitasi.org. We are here to help you be stronger and better prepared against disasters.
